| How does it work?
Sound level measurement records air borne vibration through one or more microphones during operation of the unit under test. The evaluation includes analysis of the time signal as well as frequency spectrum. The time signal may, for example, be checked for exceeding limits or the envelope function may be analysed. The frequency spectrum is cumulated into frequency bands which then are evaluated for certain limits. Finally, psychoacoustic characteristics like loudness, roughness etc. may be calculated. What is the result?
